84. "Everyone's At It" by Lily Allen

A song written by someone who lived the excesses she attacks. When you're at a loss to explain our paranoid, fuzzy reasoning world, just consider how many people are consistently on any manner of drug. From the homes to the war zones. More than the atomic or computer generation, we may go down in history as the drug generation.

But that's not why I love this song. I love the synthesizers and all the other great production elements of this dark pop song. I love the big synth drums. I love Lily Allen's surly delivery. I love the song's pure inventiveness, from a time not long ago when mainline pop music was really in the weeds and pop music that lived and breathed like this was only on the indy channels.
