359. “Young Folks” by Peter Bjorn and John

I was young when this cool song by icy Swedes crystallized a summer.

The addictive potential of the pentatonic scale was exploited with whistling innocence.

I’ve never forgiven Peter Bjorn and John for failing to follow up their 2006 work with anything that moves the needle. Young folks often struggle to recognize their fleeting opportunities. I myself have lounged around my home, casting away plenty of chances with “Young Folks” echoing on the stereo, making me feel so smart.
